Excited about Windows 11? Before you dive in, let's make sure your current PC is up to the task! Microsoft's newest operating system boasts a sleek design and enhanced features, but it comes with specific system requirements.
At a minimum, you'll need a 1 GHz or faster processor with two or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC). You'll also need 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or more of storage. A key requirement is UEFI, Secure Boot capable system firmware, and TPM (Trusted Platform Module) version 2.0.
A compatible graphics card with DirectX 12 or later and a WDDM 2.0 driver is also essential. Finally, you'll need a high-definition (720p) display that is greater than 9” diagonally, 8 bits per color channel.
Don't let the tech jargon scare you! You can easily check your PC's specifications through the System Information app (search for it in the Windows search bar). If your PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements, consider upgrading certain components or investing in a new machine to fully enjoy the Windows 11 experience.
