We've all been there. A group text that's morphed from useful to…unbearable. Maybe Aunt Mildred is flooding it with cat memes, or your ex is still lurking. Whatever the reason, you need to know how to remove someone from a group text.
The bad news? It's not always straightforward. The process depends on the type of group text you're in. If it's an iMessage group (everyone has an iPhone), you, as a participant, can remove someone if there are at least four people in the chat. Simply tap the group name, then the info icon. You'll see a list of participants. Swipe left on the person's name and tap "Remove." Bye Felicia!
However, if it's an SMS/MMS group text (mix of iPhone and Android), things get trickier. There's no built-in removal feature. The person essentially has to leave themselves. You can politely (or not-so-politely) suggest they do so. Alternatively, you can start a new group chat without them. Awkward, yes, but sometimes necessary for sanity's sake.
So, before you resort to blocking everyone, try these methods. Good luck reclaiming your peace and quiet!
