Ever sent a Messenger message you instantly regretted? Don't worry, we've all been there! Luckily, deleting messages is possible, but there are a few things you should know.
While you *can* delete messages, keep in mind that deleting a message only removes it from *your* side of the conversation. The recipient will still see it unless you unsend it quickly.
To delete a message: long-press the message you want to get rid of. A menu will pop up with several options, including 'Remove'. Tap 'Remove' and you'll then have two choices: 'Unsend' or 'Remove for you'.
'Unsend' is your best bet if you want to try and erase the message completely, but act fast! After some time has passed this option might disappear. The recipient will see a notice that you unsent a message, so they'll know something was there. 'Remove for you' only deletes the message from your chat log. The other person can still see it.
So, next time you accidentally send that questionable meme, remember your Messenger deletion options. Just be quick, and hope the other person wasn't paying too much attention!
