Feeling overwhelmed by Facebook? Sometimes, a break is exactly what you need. Luckily, Facebook lets you temporarily *suspend* your account. Think of it as putting your online life on pause. So, how do you suspend a Facebook account?
It's actually quite simple. First, go to your Facebook settings. You'll find this under the down arrow in the top right corner of the screen (on desktop) or by tapping the menu icon (three horizontal lines) on your mobile device. Navigate to 'Your Facebook Information' and then click on 'Deactivation and Deletion'.
From there, choose 'Deactivate Account'. Facebook will try to convince you to stay (they'll show you pictures of your friends you might miss!), but don't be swayed! You'll be asked to provide a reason for leaving, which is optional. Confirm your decision, and boom! Your account is suspended.
Important note: Suspending your account is *not* the same as deleting it. Your profile will be hidden, and people won't be able to find you. But, you can reactivate it anytime by simply logging back in. This is a great option if you just need some digital detox without permanently losing your data.
