Ditch the Defaults: Level Up Your Google Messages with Custom Contact Images!

Tired of seeing the same generic Google Messages contact icons? Good news! You can now personalize your conversations with custom contact images, making your chat list both visually appealing and easier to navigate. While Google Messages itself doesn't directly offer this feature (yet!), the workaround is surprisingly simple.

Simply edit the contact's picture directly within your phone's Contacts app (Google Contacts or your phone manufacturer's equivalent). Find the contact you want to customize, tap the edit button, and then choose to add or change the photo. You can select an image from your gallery, snap a new one, or even use a profile picture from their social media if available.

Once you've updated the contact's photo in your Contacts app, give Google Messages a few minutes to sync. Voila! Your custom contact image should now be displayed in your message threads. This small change can make a big difference in quickly identifying and engaging with your most frequent contacts. Happy messaging!
